About Amlam ET 0.5mg/20mg Tablet

ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL is a combination drug containing 'anti-anxiety medication,' primarily used to treat anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder is a mental condition characterized by feelings of excessive fear or worry that affect an individual's daily activities. High levels of anxiety can cause panic attacks, with intense feelings of nervousness, fear, sudden onset of sweating, hyperventilation, fast heartbeat, and skin flushing.

ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL contains Etizolam (benzodiazepine) and Propanolol (a beta-blocker), used to treat anxiety. Etizolam works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger GABA, which suppresses the excessive and abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain. Propanolol works by blocking a certain chemical messenger in the heart and blood vessels, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, and workload on the heart.

Take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience confusion, slow heart rate, memory impairment, tiredness, cold extremities, uncoordinated body movements, and drowsiness. Most of these side effects of ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.  

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor that ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL contains Etizolam, a habit-forming drug, so take it in the dose and duration prescribed by a doctor. Do not stop taking ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL even if you feel better as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms. ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL is known to cause drowsiness, so do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid consumption of alcohol as it may reduce the effectiveness of ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL.

Directions for Use

Take the tablet of ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL with or without food or as directed by your physician. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.

Drug Warnings

Do not take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL if you are allergic to ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL or any of its ingredients. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before starting ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL as it may cause adverse effects on the baby. ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL should be used with caution in elderly patients as there is an increased risk of adverse reactions such as dizziness, muscle weakness, and drowsiness. Inform your doctor if you have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), chronic pulmonary insufficiency, drug addiction, or kidney or liver problems before taking ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL. Do not take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL with opioids as it may cause breathing problems, drowsiness, coma, and even death.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL may have interaction with high blood pressure-lowering medicines (clonidine, moxonidine, lofexidine, hydralazine, minoxidil, nitroprusside), fits related drugs (phenytoin, clonazepam, alprazolam, escitalopram, carbamazepine), antidepressants (paroxetine, fluvoxamine, trazodone), anti-allergic medication (cetirizine), opioid pain killers (bupropion, morphine, codeine), drugs used to treat heartburn (cisapride), sedative-hypnotics (zolpidem), drugs used to treat low blood sugar (diazoxide), antifungals (fluconazole), drugs for stomach ulcers (cimetidine, esomeprazole, omeprazole), antipsychotics (clozapine), drugs to treat chronic alcoholism (disulfiram).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

If you have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), pulmonary insufficiency, kidney or liver problems, diabetes, or heart problem, inform your doctor before taking ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL.

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol with ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL as it may increase the risk of drowsiness and other adverse effects.

PREGNANCY

ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL is a Category C pregnancy drug, and its safety is unknown. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy.

BREAST FEEDING

It is unknown whether ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL is excreted in human milk. Please consult a doctor before using ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL while breastfeeding.

DRIVING

ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL may cause dizziness, double vision, or drowsiness in some people. Therefore, avoid driving if you feel drowsy, dizzy, or experience any vision problems after taking ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL.

LIVER

Take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

KIDNEY

Take ETIZOLAM+PROPRANOLOL with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
